PAST SOCIAL EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS

We love collaborating with local food businesses to host group socials and hands-on workshop events. If you’d like to team up with us to promote your business, we’d be delighted to chat about how we can support one another.

Below are a few snapshots from our fantastic winter socials. In November, we partnered with AGM Venison for an unforgettable members’ evening featuring a live butchery demonstration and fire-pit cook-off—learning new skills and sharing great food together. We then rounded off the year with our Christmas party at The Escape Arts Centre, celebrating an incredible year in the best company. Truly wonderful evenings with brilliant people.

Our Butchery evening with AGM venison

We teamed up with local company AGM venison for a night under the stars having a venison butchery demonstration led by the company followed by an open fire cook off. It was fantastic the guys to learn new skills and about the life and management of deer in the wild. Laura and Adam are a brillianrt team and looked after us so well!

Our Christmas Party

We ended the 2025 with a fantastic Christmas |party with all the guys at The Escape arts centre who very kindly let us use their space for the evening. A huge feast was followed by a quiz and games hosted by our very own Wild Wood member Sam Dowler.

APRIL'S WILD FORAGING AND YOGA DAY

In the heart of preston on stour we were treated to a guided wild foraging tour by medical herbablist Katie Beswick around the Alscot Estate. So much lost knowledge for healing and health lays underneath our feet and Katie was the key to releasing years of lost knowledge. We also go to stretch our legs (and other parts of our bodies) at the Old School Yoga studio where Ben Beswick hosted a fastasic 'introduction to Yoga' session for us and we finished off with a meal together afterwards. A top day!

June's woodland breakfast

We were gifted funds by Stratford Rotary club to buy a full set of cast iron cookware to use on open fires in May so we thought a woodland breakfast woul dbe the ideal social Saturday. To be amongst the woodland so early in the morning with the lads was such an amazing experience, cooking and experiencing a full english breakfast over open flame.

July's wood turning event the Heart of England Woodturners

Steve and Giles from the heart fo England Woodturners club hosted a brilliant afternoon for the guys explaining the workings of the lathes and thier experience in running workshops in places such as prisons as part of the rehabilitaiton process and the positive impact it has on mental health and the significant decrease it has on offenders reoffending. We then got hands on and made our very own spinning tops and i can confidently say it was one of the most enjoyable afternoons and personal highlight of my year!

July's Summer group BBQ
The Mayor attends Wildwood!

All the guys were incredibly honoured to host an evening for our Mayor in July. They had a chance to discuss our projects achievements last year and put forward new ideas and initiatives for 2026/27 working alongside her and with her support. A fantastic oppoutunity and real pleasure.
